Classwork will be assigned regularly. This is work that should be completed in class. However, there may come a time where you need to take the work home to complete the assignment and that is acceptable (when necessary).
All classwork should be kept in your interactive notebook unless otherwise noted by Mrs. Ashworth.
Classwork assignments will vary based on the content we cover in class. Some class work may be notes, some may be foldables, some may even be comic strip drawings.
Nonetheless, this is the page you want to go to if you are missing an assignment, want to make sure your assignments are up-to-date and in the correct order, or just want to double-check the classwork for the day.
I will update this page to include all of the assignments that we complete in class. So, please take advantage of the ability to access this page and complete ALL assignments!
If additions were made to the interactive notebook, I will include a picture of the work from the sample notebook.

Monday 12/3: Students filled out their planners for the week and we discussed upcoming due dates. Tuesday 12/4: (Sub Today) Students completed the Congress in a Flash worksheet, using the reading, as needed.

Wednesday 12/5: As a class, we went over the answers to the Congress in a Flash worksheet- students added the assignment to their interactive notebooks. We then began going through the Powers of Congress PowerPoint and students began the Powers of Congress worksheet.

Thursday 12/6: We finished the Powers of Congress PowerPoint and worksheet- reviewing implied powers, committees, and leadership roles in Congress. We then watched the Ted Ed impeachment video and discussed key points of impeachment.

Friday 12/7: Classes finished the impeachment video and we review key concepts. We went over the committee organization and leadership roles in Congress in the Powers of Congress PowerPoint. We then watched the "I'm Just a Bill" video, pausing to discuss the steps. Students highlighted notes in their How a Bill Becomes a Law flow map for the interactive notebook.

Monday 11/12: Veteran's Day- no school.
Tuesday 11/13: Students filled out their planners for the week. We went over the AIRS GPA cards and the PBiS event for the week. We finished going over the Principles of the Constitution; students finished their tree map. We set up our notebook pages for Anatomy of the Constitution.

Wednesday 11/14: As a class, we read the iCivics Anatomy of the Constitution reading. Students highlighted and annotated as we read aloud. Students worked with a partner to complete the corresponding worksheet. We went over answers together.

Week 4: November 5-9, 2018 *Benchmark 1.6 Due Fri 11/9*
Monday 11/5: Students filled out their planners for the week. Students copied the public policy chart from page 330 of their textbook for the Public Policy (INB) Assignment. We went over the big ideas for the Project Citizen unit. Students were given their jigsaw assignment instructions for the steps in the public policy process. Students will examine each section and become an expert, then share their information with their original group.

Tuesday 11/6: Students worked in their "expert" groups to read about their section of the public policy process and summarize their assigned sections on their computer paper.

Wednesday 11/7: Students worked through the Unit 6 assessment as a class. We modeled using test-taking tips and strategies.

Thursday 11/8: Students completed their unit 5 vocabulary worksheet and reviewed their unit 5 cover page, completing the page numbers and now I know sections to review their knowledge. We then added the unit 7 cover page, vocab, and bell work page. As a class, we went over the learning goal and standards for this unit.

Friday 11/9: Students watched the Brainpop U.S. Constitution video and completed a previewing activity. We discussed and began our U.S. Constitution circle map. We will add to the circle map as we go through the unit. We went over and added to the frame of reference as well. Students began their Principles of the Constitution tree map. We discussed and took notes on popular sovereignty.

We then watched the Shays' Rebellion video and discussed the key ideas. Students completed the Shays' Rebellion (INB) assignment.

Wednesday 10/24: We reviewed the Constitutional Convention and ways in which the Constitution corrected some of the problems in the Articles of Confederation. Classes participated in a review. Some classes finished the Shays' Rebellion work from yesterday.

Thursday 10/25: Students added their Anti-Federalists vs. Federalists (INB) notes to their notebook. We went over the main points and students highlighted and annotated their sheet with hints and tips for remembering the key information. Students worked with a partner to test their knowledge by completing the Anti-Federalists vs. Federalists (INB) worksheet. If time permitted, students had time to work on their benchmark questions.

Monday 9/24: Students worked with a partner to complete unit 3 review questions 1-14 on pages 356-360 in their textbook (journal grade). Students were pulled in small groups to review their test scores and discuss future goals.
